Are you interested in acquiring advanced technical skills in marine geomatics, with practical applications in hydrography, nautical charting, environmental monitoring, and navigation safety?
Applications are now open for the 11th edition of the Master’s Program in Marine Geomatics for Hydrography, offered by the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN) at the University of Genoa, in collaboration with the Italian Navy Hydrographic Institute.
The Master’s program aims to train highly specialized and versatile professionals, capable of taking on roles with significant operational responsibility and able to respond flexibly to a rapidly evolving sector driven by technological innovation.
The training pathway is designed in accordance with international standards set out in IHO Publication S-5A. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible for the professional recognition of FIG/IHO/ICA Category A Hydrographic Surveyor – the highest internationally recognized qualification in the field.
The program is open to graduates in Engineering and in all degrees related to the School of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. A B2 level of English proficiency is required. The program welcomes both Navy Hydrographic Officers and civilian candidates who wish to pursue a career as hydrographers or nautical cartographers.
In addition to lectures held at the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, students will gain hands-on field experience at the Institute and/or aboard hydro-oceanographic vessels of the Italian Navy or other organizations. The program also includes a 150-hour internship.
